US Stock of the Day - Understanding How it Works

US Stock of the Day is for traders who are looking for a US Stock to trade each day. I base my picks on US Stocks I follow on the Nasdaq, Dow, S&P and other indices such as the Russell 1000, etc., watching for a swing in the momentum upward. I keep a tight stop loss on all trades to minimize my risk... and allow the great stock trades to continue rising. These are not recommendations... merely entertainment. Please see the warning at the bottom of this page.

US Stock of the Day for July 28, 2011

Yesterday I wrote:
"This week will be wild... watch for a sharp move either way!"

That might just be the beginning...

But we continue to profit...

FOSL - purchase on June 27 @ $114.11 triggered a sale today @ $125.95 for a  $130.41, a 10.4% gain.    I'll take it...

ISRG - purchase on July 18 @ $362.94 closing today @ $393.58, a 8.4% gain.  I'm keeping my stop loss to $390.12.

MCP - purchase on July 26 @ $61.25 triggered a sale today @ $62.16, a 1.5% gain.  Once again, I'll take it considering the markets!

July 27th, I chose HS @ $45.40 with a stop loss @ $44.94.  It did not trigger.  But I'll be back for this one.

For July 28th, I'm choosing WYNN @ $165.36 with a stop loss @ $163.71.  I'm not really expecting this will trigger but I don't feel like shorting stocks in this volatile environment either.

OVERALL

The Overall total return is 65.1% since my first purchase approximately 6 weeks ago.

So far... 8 winners... 2 even... and 7 losers (at -1% each, and one at 0.3%) for a great overall profit.

I would encourage you, especially if you're looking for a more stable, weekly approach to trading, to look at http://www.investinthemarkets.com/.

See you tomorrow!
